FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 7, 2025 -- Hyundai Motor America returns to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca after an impressive start to the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season. Following a dominant 1-2 finish at the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and a subsequent victory at Sebring International Raceway, Hyundai leads the IMPC Manufacturers' Championship with 700 points. The team aims to carry this momentum into the Monterey SportsCar Championship weekend.
The Hyundai Elantra N TCR secured a 1-2 finish at Daytona with Dennis Dupont and Preston Brown in the No. 76 and Mark Wilkins and Bryson Morris in the No. 33, who led 105 of 109 laps. This winning momentum continued at Sebring, where Harry Gottsacker and Mason Filippi in the No. 98 Elantra N TCR clinched victory, marking Hyundai's second consecutive win and extending its Sebring podium streak to six seasons.
Entering the manufacturer's race weekend, Hyundai drivers occupy top positions in the IMPC TCR class driver standings. Dennis Dupont and Preston Brown in the No. 76 are currently leading the championship with 590 points, followed closely by Harry Gottsacker and Mason Filippi in the No. 98 with 580 points. Hyundai's masterful performances at Daytona and Sebring have positioned it as strong contenders for the championship and it will once again field a strong contingent of Elantra N TCR cars for the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 race on Saturday, May 10. Teams and drivers will be eager to capitalize on Hyundai's early-season success and deliver a victory.
